Today, Canadians celebrate the day in history when our three colonies were first united into a single country called Canada. Not only does our nation turn 148 years old, but our iconic maple leaf-adorned flag turned 50 this year as well. (EF also celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2015!).
As we take the day off to revel in our typically modest fashion, here are some of the things for which we’re known and loved the world over: hockey, the invention of basketball and the telephone, poutine, ketchup chips, being polite, and our multicultural heritage. O Canada, indeed!
