Presented by EF and the Juno Beach Centre, join us for a special virtual event where we’ll get a sneak peak into the temporary exhibition Great Women of the War (1939-1945) housed at the world-class Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer, France.
We’ll learn about the brave women who played an integral role during the Second World War and paved the way for social change. Enjoy a talk from Juno Beach Centre staff, watch a recorded interview with one of Canada’s last surviving female pilots from the Second World War, and listen to a student-led Q&A session—just in time for Remembrance Day.
The Juno Beach Centre offers a collection of online archives, websites, and Canadian history resources designed to help educators incorporate primary research and learning in their classrooms.
Learn about Veronica Foster, a young woman who became a Canadian icon representing nearly one million Canadian women who worked in the manufacturing plants that produced munitions and material during the Second World War. Check out her fascinating true story and discover how Ronnie the Bren Gun Girl inspired America’s famous Rosie the Riveter.
